A well established, well respected Health and Safety Consultancy, are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their team on site in Redcar.

Now well established and going through a period of growth, this professional organisation have a significant pipeline of projects.

The successful Health & Safety Manager will be joining an organisation who firmly believe that their people are their strongest asset and provide strong training and development. 

About the role

The successful Health & Safety Manager will immediately join the team working on a major project in Redcar.

The Health & Safety Manager will act as the competent person and the general point of contact across the Group responsible for all elements of Health, Safety and Environment, as well as:

• Assist in developing and implementing strategies and policies.        
• Keep up to date with legislation and best practice
• Take a lead role in improving Health & Safety performance
• Review Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans
• Review Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Mentor site management teams in site set up.
• Perform monthly site inspections and prepare relevant audit reports
• Attend internal project meeting to discuss specific issues.
• Take the lead in accident investigations and report findings
• Advice on training requirements

This is a two year Fixed Term Contract role.

The requirements of the Health & Safety Manager

• NEBOSH Diploma or recognised equivalent
• Strong people skills and the ability to build relationships.
• Good written and presentational skills
• Experience of presenting SHE advice, information and plans in an engaging way to managers at different levels within an organisation.
• 4 years experience in construction Health & Safety
• Experience with a Main Contractor would be an advantage
