Are you a strong influencer with a pragmatic approach?  My client, a leading supplier to the rail industry, are looking for a Health and Safety Advisor to join their expanding team.  With projects aross London, you will ideally be commutable to a North West London Head Office.  Reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Advisor you will be reponsible for providing support and advice across a diverse set of contracts, leading by example.  

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the sites are compliant with UK legislation ensuring the Company complies with its statutory obligations
  • Working across the sites to drive improvement and engagement for health & safety
  • Champion the company Integrated Management System
  • Undertake Site Inspections & Audits, Reporting and close out of identified issues
  • Lead and assist Accident & Incident Investigations
  • Assist in production and review of documentation, including review of subcontractor documents
  • Leading on new initiatives and always seeking opportunities to improve and develop health & safety

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

  • Proven experience within the rail industry, ideally Network Rail or LUL 
  • Nebosh General/Construction and/or NCRQ Equivalent, ideally Nebosh Diploma or working torwards.
  • Ideally, knowledge of 45001, Trained Accident/Incident Investigator, Qualified Auditor
  • Infrastructure Access - PTS, ICI-LU, BTA etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with confident presentation skills
  • A strong technical knowledge across relevant health & safety legislation
  • Confident negotiation skills - ability to influence at all levels

Flexibility within this role is essential as the business is in operation 24/7, there may be occasions when the successful candidate is required outside of the usual working hours.
