An exciting opportunity for an articulate and committed Health and Safety Manager to work within a high profile educational institution based in South side of London.  The role would suit a candidate looking for a part-time role of 28 hours per week who possesses excellent estate management and facilities experience.

The successful Health and Safety Manager will report to the Director of Estates and work alongside a team of facilities and maintenance professionals with responsibility for all aspects of the fabric of the buildings across three campuses.  This diverse role requires a confident and experienced Health and Safety Manager who has previously reviewed strategy, has ability to identify areas for improvement and previously worked within an estates management environment.  The requirement is to provide advice guidance and training ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Legislation.

Essentially : 

  • Member of IOSH and or IIRSM
  • Nebosh General and or NCRQ equivalent
  • Knowledge of CDM
  • Previous experience in a similar Health and Safety Manager role, including monitoring, auditing and inspecting health and safety standards
  • Experience of working within estates management or fit/out refurbishment /maintenance projects
  • Previously written and implemented Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Delivered training and ensured robust systems for monitoring, trend analysis and undertaking of audit

Desirable : 

  • Educated to Degree level - preferably in a science based or related subject
  • Hold an Environmental or Quality Management System Qualification
  • Working knowledge of 14001, 9001 and Bream
  • Experience of listed buildings
