A fantastic opportunity has arisen at a well-known food manufacturing site for a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to lead and develop all safety production activities while driving sustainable improvements as part of the Senior Leadership Management Team. Ideally you will be commutable to East London on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will have full autonomy for the site and will be responsible for ensuring site compliance and adherence to both the business and Health and Safety requirements whilst driving and embedding a positive safety culture. Furthermore there is an opportunity to influence and be heavily involved in the Health and Safety strategy for the site in 2022.

Strong engagement and communication skills will be in the forefront of this role and you will have the ability to win hearts and minds across the teams with high visibility.  Co-ordinating HSE activities, providing an auditing function for site and company, and leading, developing and implementing a sustainable HSE management programme to ensure statutory accreditations are successfully retained. Additionally, you will be involved in, accident prevention programmes, analysis of trends and design of health and safety training initiatives.

Minimum requirements are :

  • NEBOSH general certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Member of IOSH
  • Experience of working with Duty Holder Register and specifically DSEAR; PUWER Experience of ISO14001/18001 / internal auditor.
  • Exceptional verbal and numerate skills.
  • Proven competence with IT systems.

Desirable :

  • Experience of working in a unionised environment.
  • Lead Auditor.
  • IEMA Certification.
  • NEBOSH Environmental certificate.
  • NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety.
