Are you an innovative and inspiring HSEQ Manager with rail experience?  Due to business growth an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Health Safety Quality and Environmental Manager to join a successful award-winning support services company has arisen. This lead role with cover the South of England with responsibility for sub-contractor teams across the region.

Working proactively with the Director of Safety and Operational Managers the successful candidate will be instrumental in leading, promoting and inspiring a strong a positive safety culture across this creative and growing business.  Supporting the Rail Division the successful candidate will be instrumental in assisting delivery of health safety quality and environmental excellence in line with the strategic objectives and legal compliance targets.  

You will be required to work proactively to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe and productive working practices across the South of England.

Leading by example the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring ISO systems are aligned with contract specifications/compliance and provide support in their effective implementation across the business. You will be required to ensure compliance with 9001 and RISQS along with ensuring all safety critical staff comply with client safety regulations and current HSE legislation.

Previous Rail experience is essential and experience of working with a service or support services industry would be advantageous too.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Championing of behavioural safety improvements and upholding safe systems of work
  • Engagement with development of risk management preventative systems
  • Accident investigation reporting 
  • Work closely with all stake holders and teams delivering client services
  • Ensuring compliance across all teams and providing advice and guidance
  • Review safe systems of work, conducting regular toolbox talks, overseeing risk assessments
  • Conducting trends analysis and reporting to the board
  • Conduct regular field team audits on rail sites

The successful candidate will require a minimum of a Nebosh General or equivalent, ideally Nebosh Diploma. GradIOSH and working towards CMIOSH is the ideal. Evidence of CPD is desirable too. Essentially previous Rail experience and ensuring alignment of ISO Standards.
