Working closely with the Head of Health and Safety, radiation protection is a specialist area of health and safety which may suit your scientific or engineering background.
This specialist scientific team are seeking a Radiation Protection Safety Advisor so that work is carried out safely and in compliance with Regulations and so that employees and the public are protected from harmful effects.
The role will involve managing communications with the RPA and providing information to staff, providing advice on health and safety policies, initiating reports, assurance monitoring, management of certification and licensing, auditing, safety investigations and safety training.
There will be extensive liaison with the Environment Agency and Euratom too.
Qualifications required include:
NEBOSH Diploma is a minimum safety qualification
A degree at the bachelor level or equivalent training and experience in physical, chemical, biological sciences or engineering
To be a good fit for the role you will have the capacity to think clearly in an emergency, good team-working skills, a practical and innovative approach to work, good attention to detail and the ability to negotiate with tact and diplomacy.
